Yesterday I took the pilgrimage with Brad, Joel and Zoe to John King Books. I keep calling it David King Books because of an MC I knew in the Lippizanner Stallions by that name. This is a massive old textile mill building in downtown Detroit which includes a rare book room. Check it out if you have time!

Fizzy died last night. He was eight years old. He hadn't been feeling well lately and had really slowed down over the last month and wasn't eating much. He had chewed his tail nearly off. I think he was grieving for Chiana. Zoe was crying all day and held him in a glider pouch because she knew he was very weak. Fizzy was our first glider. His name was actually Fizban the Fabulous. He was the alpha male and knew it and I often called him freakboy and the beast or just the Fiz kind of like the Fonz. I thought our two oldest gliders would live at least a few more years and have been wondering if we are suddenly doing something wrong to lose two gliders in about two months. Memento Mori.
Do you smell like an Orc? Maybe you've just had a day of Orc slaying and you can't get the smell off by normal cleaning. This product is sure to help, as it comes with a magic 20 sider to help you with your saving throw. The last two weeks have been a nightmare with work and school. I had a pre-teaching class that didn't go the way it was supposed to and now I am scrambling to get things done. I did a group presentation on the Olympics last Wednesday and we are finishing our final assignment now. We've also been scrambling to get the Christmas tree up, send out cards, take care of my mom's needs, et cetera. So I haven't had the time I would like to work on my website. Hopefully things will calm down after Wednesday.
I was required to create a literacy autobiography for a reading class. It was the most interesting part of my classroom experience this semester. The exercise definitely helped me understand my own learning better. I recommend trying this activity for anyone brave enough to try! |
