Igor Larinov has been one of my favorite NHL hockey players since I first saw him play in the Olympics for the Red Army team. The "Professor" never gave up the puck and made brilliant passes that lead the Red Wings to muliple Stanley Cup wins. Larnionov was also one of the best conditioned athletes in hockey. I still remember the playoff overtime game when Larionov, well past 40 years old scored the winning goal sometime around 3 AM. It woke me up and thankfully the re-plays showed what a great goal it was and how ultimately he was one of the few players with the energy to make a move and score.
